SIFT-MS Ionization

Course Details Premier

An introduction to the ionization processes that occur in selected ion flow tube mass spectrometry (SIFT-MS) instruments. In SIFT-MS, soft chemical ionization is achieved using gas-phase ion-molecule reactions. Multiple reaction mechanisms from up to eight sustainably generated reagent ions provide broad-spectrum and specific analysis when coupled with MS detection.

Topics include:

  • Positively charged reagent ions
  • Negatively charged reagent ions
  • Functional group trends
  • Other important considerations
  • High specificity in real time
