CHROMtalks - How Better Sample Preparation Reduces the Need for Troubleshooting in the First Place
Course Details
MS instruments are very sophisticated and expensive, and they must be maintained by experienced operators and/or service engineers to achieve optimal performance. Injection of dirty samples or simply too much material can cause major problems, especially in routine analysis. The best way to maintain a clean system is to inject clean samples in the first place! The “just-enough cleanup” provided by dispersive-solid-phase extraction (d-SPE) in QuEChERS is no longer good enough, and it is much better to use QuEChERSER with mini-column µ-SPE cleanup prior to analyses by GC–MS techniques. Examples of exceptional cleanup in comparison to QuEChERS will be presented.
Topics include:
- Importance of maintaining clean GC–MS systems
- Risks of injecting dirty or overloaded samples
- Limitations of traditional QuEChERS d-SPE cleanup
- Advantages of QuEChERSER with mini-column µ-SPE
- Enhancing system performance and longevity
- Comparative results: QuEChERS vs. QuEChERSER cleanup
- Real-world application examples demonstrating improved sample preparation
